Description
Call the game faster and cleaner on Friday night – with a sheet that does the thinking with you during the week.
This 2026 play call sheet is the exact tool I use to plan and call my offense. It’s built off the structure of NFL-style call sheets (Kyle Shanahan / Sean McVay) but adapted for the realities of high school football, with time-saving automation layered on top.

What’s Included
Plays by Formation tab – your “Saturday mind map”
Build clusters of plays by formation + motion (run, counter, pass)
Color-coded formation families (North/South, East/West, etc.)
Type the formation/motion once and it auto-fills the entire cluster
Top Personnel & Auxiliary Menus – where you actually call the game
All plays from the formation tab automatically populate here
Grouped by scheme first (Wide Zone, Counter, Quick Game, Screens, etc.)
Left column: your top personnel (best 11 on the field)
Right column: auxiliary groupings (short yardage, special packages, funky 3rd-down looks)
One glance tells you every way you can run a concept with your favorite surfaces and presentations
Situational Call Sheet (back side)
First 10 (Opening Script) – first 10 non-situational calls
Openers – drive starters designed to get 3–4 yards and spike scoring rate
Priority Calls – plays you must get called that week
Get Back On Track (GBOT) – answers for 2nd & long vs pressure or drop-8
Backed Up – inside your own 5, protect the ball and your punter
4-Minute – close the game out with the lead
Turbo (2-Minute) – automatic formations by hash, fast concepts only
3rd & 4th Down – down-and-distance buckets (1–2, 3–4, 5–7, 8–10, 11+)
Strike Zone – fringe red zone (+31 to +30), last chance to attack a base defense
High Red / Low Red / Goal Line / 2-Point – calls built for tighter space and heavier pressure
Automatic QB Wristband Builder
Color + number system (blue 0–5, 10–15, 20–25, etc.) designed so you can signal any call with one hand
Wristband pulls directly from your call sheet – once a play is on your sheet, it’s ready for the QB
Lets you call practice the same way you call Friday night: “Yellow 23” instead of full verbiage
How It Works in Your Week
Saturday: fill out the Plays by Formation tab as you study your opponent – build your series (run / counter / pass) and presentations.
As you type, the personnel menus and situational columns auto-populate, so you’re only entering each play once.
Wednesday: fill in your situational menus (3rd/4th down, red zone, GBOT, backed up, etc.) based on the week’s plan.
Friday morning: drag/cut/paste plays into the exact clusters and order you want to call them from that night.
Print the front (normal downs) and back (situations), print the wristband, and you’re ready.
Time-Saving Features
Linked cells so formation/motion only needs to be typed once per cluster
Menus for top personnel and auxiliary groupings that stay synced with your formation tab
Copy/paste workflows to move plays between menus and situations without re-typing
Automatically generated QB wristband so you’re not hand-writing numbers and calls every week
Who It’s For
High school offensive coordinators and play callers who want:
An NFL-style call sheet structure
A clear way to think in formations on Saturday and think in concepts on Friday
Built-in situational planning instead of guessing in the moment
A wristband system that actually matches the call sheet
Notes
Designed to be easily customized to any system – wide zone, gap schemes, spread, pro-style, option, etc.
Includes automated versions with formulas/macros and simpler versions with reduced automation if you prefer to keep things basic or adapt to your own setup.
