With 12 years of college coaching experience, Sam is one of the most accomplished DII offensive line coaches in the country. He has worked with: Kansas, Central Michigan, Army, Navy, Kutztown, Bryant, Olivet, Dordt, Bloomsburg, Walsh, Alma, Adrian, Kalamazoo, Trine, and hundreds of High School Programs.

His resume speaks for itself. Spending 9 years at his Alma Mater as the Run Game Coordinator/Offensive Line coach, he was blessed to be a contributing factor for: 3 National Championships, 12 All-American Selections, multiple national statistic leader achievements, and 4 DII NCAA national records. All accomplished at his Alma Mater. After leaving Ferris State University, he joined the Mississippi Valley State University Delta Devils where he took the post as Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line Coach. There, his offense had the best season in 20 years by scoring 34+ points in 3 games, throwing for 400 yards twice, and tied for 3rd most wins in that stretch (2). In addition to that, his kicking unit set the school record for longest field goal, and NCAA record for most points by a female (5 points.) /

Sam has returned to Michigan at Davenport University in Grand Rapids, MI as the Offensive Coordinator/QB/RB coach. This is Sam’s second stint at Davenport. His first job was a GA at Davenport during their “Year Zero” as a start up program. /
